Acquisition & Mergers

We’ve now supported four M&A projects, the most recent being the share purchase of Taylor Engley, a well-established estate agency in Eastbourne.

Share purchases are inherently more complex than asset acquisitions, involving higher legal and operational risk. We were engaged to oversee the entire process — from negotiation through integration — ensuring a smooth and successful transition.

Management Consultancy: We supported our client during the negotiations, completion, and post-completion. We helped design and implement systems and processes to align the businesses and create standard operating procedures that would optimise their performance and efficiency. Post-completion, we created and oversaw a strategic plan for growth, which saw a 25% increase in revenue in the first 12 months.

In the most recent Taylor Engley project, we led further strategic development, supporting a full rebrand, refit, and relaunch to re-establish market-leading performance. We continue to support the leadership team with ongoing mentoring and advice.

Project Management: We led the team and oversaw the transfer of data, onboarding of clients, and recruitment and training plans for additional colleagues required as part of the scale-up. We ensured that all tasks were completed on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to existing operations.

In Eastbourne, this also included coordination of office consolidation, supplier transitions, and the rollout of new systems and marketing assets to ensure a seamless transformation.

Interim Management: We filled the gap of a Senior Manager and covered knowledge and experience gaps within the existing leadership team at a critical time for the business. We also took charge of business development and ensured the smooth integration of the businesses. We managed communication and collaboration between teams and departments, and resolved any issues or conflicts that arose during the transition.

As part of our exit strategy, we assisted the leadership team with the recruitment and training of a Senior Manager, who took over day-to-day operations.

This same hands-on approach was applied during the Taylor Engley integration — ensuring continued performance and strong leadership presence through a period of significant change.

Our client was delighted with our services and the results of each merger and acquisition. These businesses have become leading players in their respective markets, with strong competitive advantage and sustainable growth foundations.
